AGREEMENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE that I have voluntarily applied to participate in shooting activities for THE STEEL CHALLENGE pistol tournament, to be operated solely by The Steel Challenge (a partnership), ISI Shootists , LLC, (ISI) Ranges located on the Wes Thompson , Inc. property in Piru, California. Shooting activities include not only my actual shooting time, but any activity I engage at while on the ISI Ranges, including but not limited to, walking between stages and waiting for my turn to shoot.
AS LAWFUL CONSIDERATION for having been permitted by The Steel Challenge (a partnership), ISI Shootists , LLC, associated individuals, or one of its affiliated organizations to participate in these activities and use their facilities, I HEREBY AGREE THAT I, my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives and assigns WILL NOT SUE , make a claim against, attach property of, or prosecute The Steel Challenge  (a partnership), ISI Shootists , LLC (ISI), International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), Wes Thompson, Inc,  The National Rifle Association (NRA), and/or any of its/their sponsors, owners, partners, employees, or affiliated organizations for injury or damage resulting from the negligence or other acts, whosoever caused, by any owner, partner, employee, agent, or contractor of The Steel Challenge (a partnership) or ISI Shootists , LLC, AS A RESULT OF MY PARTICIPATION IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES.  In addition, I HEREBY RELEASE AND DISCHARGE The Steel Challenge (a partnership), ISI Shootists , LLC, International Defensive Pistol Association, West Thompson, Inc, The national Rifle Association, and/or any of its/their owners, partners employees, sponsors, or affiliated organizations from all claims or demands I, my heirs, distributees, guardians, legal representatives, or assigns now have or may have hereafter have FOR INJURY OR DAMAGE resulting from MY PARTICIPATION IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES.
I AM AWARE THAT SHOOTING SPORTS ARE INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES, AND, DESPITE KNOWING THIS, AM VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THESE SHOOTING ACTIVITIES WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DANGER INVOLVED AND HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE TO ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISKS OF INJURY OR DEATH.
I AGREE TO TREAT ALL GUNS AS ALWAYS LOADED AND WILL NEVER POINT THE MUZZLE OF ANY GUN AT ANY TIME, WHETHER LOADED OR NOT, AT MYSELF OR IN THE DIRECTION OF ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.
I acknowledge and agree that drawing and re-holstering a gun is a particularly dangerous activity, and one that must be self-monitored because of the fact that I could injure myself during a speed draw before a Range Officer could stop me.  I therefore promise and agree that I have practiced drawing my gun before coming to this match and am competent to do so without causing myself injury, and that I WILL NOT TAKE THE SAFETY OFF OR PUT MY FINGER ON THE TRIGGER DURING THE DRAW,  until the muzzle of the gun is fully downrange and completely clear of my body.  Likewise, I promise and agree that, I WILL PUT THE SAFETY BACK ON AND REMOVE MY FINGER FROM THE TRIGGER BEFORE RE-HOLSTERING, while the muzzle of the gun is still fully downrange and totally clear of my body.
I have carefully read this agreement, and agree to abide by the safety rules of the Steel Challenge coursebook.  I agree that my failure to abide by the safety instructions either in this agreement or in the Steel coursebook will result in the immediate forfeiture of my match fees.
